Bio Desaru food valley and agro-ecotourism development project calls for a total capital investment of RM2 billion over the next 5 years. 

When the entire development project goes into full operation and production, it is expected to generate a yearly gross value of RM500 million besides creating over 5,000 new jobs through various programmes and activities.

With the competitive advantages and opportunities available, Bio Desaru is set to attract considerable investment capital from local & foreign investors. Business opportunities will also be prevalent for aspiring local agropreneurs to flourish, thus boosting the local economy. 

The local community of Desaru and its surrounding areas are bound to benefit greatly from the activities within this project, which will help to bring vibrancy to South Eastern Johor.

Revenue from tourism will see an increase with the robust development as well as the unique agro-eco attractions in Bio Desaru. It is estimated that tourist flow into this region will grow to one million visitors per year.

The integrated agrocultural development of Bio Desaru will contribute towards realizing the nation's stated objectives of self-sufficiency as well as making agriculture one of the main engines of growth.

In short, Bio Desaru will contribute significantly towards the socio-economy of the State of Johor in particular, and the nation in general.

More importantly, the availability of high value organic food and the wholesome lifestyle that is made possible in Bio Desaru will help bring a positive change to the Malaysian's way of life.

• Bio Desaru Sdn Bhd (BDSB) was established in 19th June 2008, as an anchor company of J-Biotech Food Programme Cluster.

• Responsible development as core business which includes all the bio-agriculture, bio-aquaculture, bio-livestock and bio-tourism projects specifically.

• Developing 8,847.3 acres of Bio Desaru-The Organic Food Valley into a fully integrated embracing Ag-Bio food production centre.
